SXSW Guide

Bandsintown Introduces First-Ever Personalized SXSW Guide

Bandsintown, the independent concert discovery platform, today launched the first-ever personalized SXSW Guide inside their mobile app. The SXSW Guide uses data insights to identify and suggest what performances are best suited to users' taste, based on both the artists they track and those similar. The first of its kind, the Guide is Bandsintown's landmark foray into festival recommendations - a dynamic way for fans to stay in-the-know while traveling from set to set.

With more than 2,200 artists set to perform at hundreds of venues sprawled across Austin, this week-long music festival is a can't-miss for any lover of live music. With seemingly countless sets to catch between Monday, March 12 and Sunday, March 18, Bandsintown has made it easier than ever for fans to pick and choose what shows to check out, based on their individual music taste.

Bandsintown also recently announced their Big Break showcase at SXSW 2018. The festival's first ever and most ambitious data-driven official showcase will occur on March 14 at Javelina, and feature performances from Bandsintown Big Break artists FOXTRAX, Peach Pit, SISTERS, The Lagoons, Sneaks, and Sarah Shook & the Disarmers.

Announced last December, Bandsintown's "Big Break" is a data-driven emerging artist program, that identifies artists who have grown the most between 100 and 5,000 trackers within a 6 month period. "Big Break" artists receive promotion across Bandsintown's digital network, in customized editorial, in-app features, brand partnerships, touring, special showcase opportunities, and social media promotion.

Thanks to their reach of 130 Million music fans, 40 million registered concert goers and 450,000 touring artists, Bandsintown is able to tap into live music insights and see who concert-goers are obsessing over before everyone else.
