I was born in 86 so when this record came out I was only 5 years old. I didn’t hear it until at least 5 years after that point but, I can absolutely pin point that moment as when I decided what I had to do with my life. The music was calling like a siren of the sea.
Looking back now there’s nothing particularly special about any of the riffs but it was the way they all played together. Heavy Chugging on the low E, pick scrapes, big bends and the melody using the big chords, all topped off with a classic Zakk solo! It was all the right ingredients to inspire that kid and light the fire that he needed to get started. I don’t know who I would be without that song.
