Maria Domark: I’ve been a huge fan of Ninajirachi for many years. She’s an absolute legend and I listen to her music daily, whether streaming it or playing it in my head. Naturally, that makes her a big influence on my music and often find myself emulating her sense of detail in my songs.
A few months ago a close friend of mine told me that he got us tickets to see a show, but the artist would be a surprise. I started guessing names and I remember asking him “is it Nina? nah, no way.” I was absolutely beaming when I found out that it was in fact Nina. That was my first time seeing an electronic artist that I really love in concert. The energy was crazy. Everyone was dancing and having a great time, and it was so wholesome and inspiring. I find myself thinking back to that night often and only now am I realizing just how much of an impact it’s had on my process and workflow. I was definitely embodying Nina while working on my latest releases ‘is this what you wanted?’ and it’s VIP with Crimson Child. I could not be more proud of how both songs turned out.
