Island Records has officially welcomed platinum-certified indie pop artist Suki Waterhouse to its roster, marking the beginning of a new phase in the singer’s evolving and multifaceted music career.
A statement from the company discloses that “Suki is an incredible artist and magnetic personality. Her creative world occupies a singular place in its artistic integrity and ambition. We’re beyond excited to welcome her to the Island family and support her creative vision moving forward,” said Justin Eshak and Imran Majid, Co-Chairmen and CEOs of Island Records.
Waterhouse has spent the past few years steadily building an international following through her genre-blending sound, emotive songwriting, and compelling live presence—performing everywhere from Coachella to Lollapalooza and selling out her own global headlining tour.
Her most recent release, Memoir of a Sparklemuffin, was issued last fall via Sub Pop Records and was met with widespread critical acclaim. A statement from Island highlights that Interview Magazine praised the album as “her most vulnerable body of work yet,” while the Los Angeles Times noted she “sparkles and shines,” and SPIN called the record “an important milestone, solidifying her as an artist with a presence as enigmatic as it is captivating.”
In June, Waterhouse released the deluxe edition of Memoir of a Sparklemuffin, which included new tracks and live recordings from her sold-out performances at Brooklyn’s Paramount Theatre—among them a collaboration with Stephin Merritt of The Magnetic Fields and a BBC Live cover of Clairo’s “Sexy to Someone.”
The Sparklemuffin Tour continues this month in Europe, and Waterhouse is also set to join Laufey this fall as direct support on her A Matter of Time tour. That run includes multiple nights at major venues like Madison Square Garden in New York and Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
Now with the backing of Island Records, Waterhouse enters her next musical era with momentum, critical praise, and a steadily growing audience—bringing her distinct artistic vision to an even broader stage.
