For GRAMMY-winning composer/producers Starr Parodi and Jeff Fair, the loss of their Pacific Palisades property meant more than the loss of their home: it meant the loss of their creative hub, their studio filled with years-worth of accrued vintage music tech and instruments, including their 1928 Steinway & Sons Model B Grand Piano. The piano’s own personal history—steeped with iconicity in its presence among iconic film scores including The Wizard of Oz—enriched Parodi and Fair’s creative work, and without their beloved studio and tools, the two artists were forced to start from scratch.
A new workspace at Sonic Fuel Studios began to rebuild their creative workflow, with the Focusrite Red 16Line audio interface at the heart of their new space. Connected to fresh ADAM Audio S3H monitors—an upgrade from their previous setup—new works from the two have continued to proliferate, with projects like a new score for the Laguna Pageant of the Masters and a collaboration with Kitt Wakeley on Seven Seasons, a follow up to their GRAMMY-winning An Adoption Story.
"With the Red 16Line, everything connects seamlessly – our compressors, preamps and synths," said Jeff Fair in a press release. “And the ADAM S3Hs let us hear with the same confidence we had before. That familiarity helped us move forward.”
“Everyone who touched that piano to help us, workers, immigrants, soldiers – it became a living symbol of humanity,” added Parodi in the same press release. “And in that same spirit, Focusrite and ADAM helped bring our music back to life. We’re so grateful.”
