Songwriting University announces two new faculty member sign ons to their Grammy award-winning songwriting staff with the addition of Suzie McNeil (Steven Tyler’s Loving Mary Band) and Eliot Sloan (Blessid Union of Souls). Both Suzie and Eliot are now available for online co-writing sessions through Songwriting University's platform and are thrilled to help cultivate new music.
A native of Toronto, Canada, Juno Award winner Suzie McNeil was born into a musical family and has transformed into a Jack-of-all-trades. Her experiences have ranged from live shows beside some of North America’s top artists (Steven Tyler, Aerosmith, P!nk, Gretchen Wilson), to becoming a multi-instrumentalist in her own Nashville based country / rock band (Loving Mary), to consummate professionalism in the studio, to commercial jingles, to performing in front of crowds of up to 200,000 people, to a sought after Nashville songwriter.
Eliot Sloan is the lead singer for the pop-rock band, Blessid Union of Souls and has served as the band’s frontman and main songwriter since their Gold debut album ‘Home’ was released in 1995. Sloan has co-written seven Top 40 Billboard hits for the band including “I Believe” (#8 on Billboard Hot 100) and “Hey Leonardo (She Likes Me For Me)” (#33 on Billboard Hot 100 and top 20 in Australia and Canada).
“Our goal is to be able to offer educational and instructive resources to aspiring songwriters all over the world,” says Michael Blanton, A&R executive and one of the founders of Songwriting University. “We are excited to add these incredible writers. I know they will add a great deal of knowledge and skill through their co-writing sessions.”
