In what industry insiders are already calling the most unexpected supergroup formation since The Travelling Wilburys, Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr.—known to the world as Snoop Dogg—has officially joined forces with Rolling Stones legends Mick Jagger and Keith Richards to form The Rolling Stoned, a band whose name, all three parties insist, is "purely a reference to the biblical concept of a rolling stone gathering no moss"—a position they maintain with the serene conviction of men who have absolutely nothing to explain.
The unlikely partnership reportedly crystallized last December during the Stones' stop in Las Vegas. Sources close to the band claim Snoop Dogg visited Richards in his dressing room for a discussion regarding "the finer points of relaxation methodology." While Richards and Snoop found common ground in their legendary endurance for leisure, Jagger reportedly recognized the cross-cultural potential of the pairing. He is said to have pulled out a cocktail napkin, sketched a Venn diagram, and announced, "Gentlemen, the overlap is enormous."
Management confirmed the trio has already completed six tracks for a debut album, tentatively titled Between a Rock and a Hazy Place, due for release this autumn. Confirmed song titles include "Sympathy for the Dogg," "Paint It Blunt," "Jumpin' Jack Hash," and the lead single "Wild Chronic," described in the press release as "a sprawling nine-minute blues-rap odyssey in the key of G major and good vibes."
Studio insiders say the recording sessions have been equal parts chaos and chemistry. Jagger has been experimenting with laid-back vocal phrasing he’s dubbed “swagger drawl,” while Richards has reportedly swapped out his usual tuning for something he calls “open G… but, like, emotionally.” Snoop, for his part, has taken on the role of “vibe curator,” occasionally pausing takes to remind everyone to “let the groove breathe." A source inside the studio noted that one session ran eleven hours, though approximately nine of those hours were described in the session log simply as "marinating."
Sources close to the project say rehearsals have been "incredibly chill"—though the exact meaning remains unclear.
A world tour—dubbed The High Rollers tour—is also in discussion, with a provisional start date of April 20th 2027.
While the world waits for the first notes of "Wild Chronic" to drop, readers are reminded to check their calendars... April Fools!
