Shinedown at FivePoint Amphitheatre in Irvine, CA

Shinedown returns to Southern California’s FivePoint Amphitheatre with their “Attention, Attention World Tour” along with local band Badflower and UK natives Dinosaur Pile-Up and Broken Hands.

Broken Hands started off the evening under a sun-drenched stage as concertgoers started to swarm into the beautiful outdoor venue. The British rock band played a quick 5-song set before giving the stage over to Dinosaur Pile-Up, a fellow UK rock band who started their set against a brand-new backdrop courtesy of the boys of Shinedown.

Dinosaur Pile-Up has recently gained some notoriety on Sirius XM radio with their song, “Back Foot.” They played a fun, fast-paced set giving a taste of songs from new and old albums including “11:11”, “Thrash Metal Cassette” and ending with the single “Back Foot”. For those local to the Los Angeles area, make sure to catch Dinosaur Pile-Up later this month when they team up with Los Angeles-based rock collective Rock Night Out at the Echo Theater.

Next to the stage was local LA rock band Badflower. They performed an emotional, heartfelt set from their debut album, Ok, I'm Sick. The band played fan favorites such as “Promise Me,” “Heroine” and “Animal” during their nine-song set that lasted into nightfall. They concluded with the band's first single, “Ghost."

As day turned to night and the stage began to transform, headliners Shinedown prepared for their generous hour and a half set. Draped behind a white curtain, the show started off with a bang as the curtain fell revealing the band who launched into their first song, “Devil.” Complete with pyro, cannon bangs and lasers, the band went on to perform several songs on the main stage before silently sneaking onto a second smaller stage, that was set up beforehand, in the middle of the audience.

In honor of the anniversary of Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington's passing, Shinedown paid tribute to the departed artists by playing Linkin Park's “In the End”  throughout the amphitheater while Brent and the rest of the band returned to the main stage where they went on to perform an emotional performance of Soundgarden’s “Black Hole Sun.”

Shinedown went on to play for another 35 minutes before wrapping up the show with their song, “Brilliant.”

Make sure to catch Shinedown as the "Attention, Attention World Tour" continues throughout the United States until October. From there, the band begins the global leg of their tour hitting stops including Canada, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Portugal, France and the UK.
