Music Business Vet Ryan Matteson Launches “Ten Atoms” Artist Management Firm

Music business veteran Ryan Matteson has launched Ten Atoms, a new type of artist management firm combining industry-leading digital initiatives, highly successful traditional strategies and dedicated representation to build bands’ careers.

Ten Atoms’ initial artist roster includes Black Pumas, Bully, Japanese Breakfast, Mountain Goats, Strand of Oaks, Whitney and Wye Oak.

Ten Atoms is committed to taking its artists to the next level and executing their creative vision by developing and implementing comprehensive and innovative strategies for radio, touring, digital and public relations, Matteson said.

“It’s our job to ensure our strategy for each artist is all-encompassing,” Matteson said. “We give absolute dedication to our artists. We work tirelessly to get artists the best deals possible, with the ultimate goal of getting our artists paid. We immediately help our artists build their careers faster and go further.”

Matteson brings a wealth of experience, contacts and success to Ten Atoms after working as an established band manager and promoter for more than a dozen years. Most recently, Matteson managed artists at C3 Management, where he represented nationally acclaimed acts for more than seven years. Matteson previously worked at C3 Presents, handling digital marketing strategy and helping produce the firm’s Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits festivals.

Prior to his work at C3, Matteson served as the first full-time public relations director for the Pabst Theater Group in Milwaukee and ran the influential music blog Muzzle of Bees, which helped launch several artists.

Matteson said Ten Atoms would be adding more artists and managers who shared the agency’s vision of using all strategies to the fullest and fighting for the best deals for its bands.

Ten Atoms is also producing video and audio content and developing licensing deals. Content and licensing working includes creating music-oriented videos for several lifestyle brands, producing a podcast series for The Mountain Goats and music supervision for upcoming film and television series.
