NY Artist Compilation to Aid Amityville Music Hall

Since the pandemic hit in North America, local music venues have become some of the hardest-hit businesses with little relief coming through. In conjunction with Long Island Emo, musicians who have called Long Island, NY home have come together to raise funds for Amityville Music Hall through the release of The AMH Comp: Volume One. Available exclusively on Bandcamp, 100% of the proceeds from the release will go towards the venue and their staff, who have for years created a strong sense of community for music fans and local and touring acts alike.

The 28 songs on the compilation include new originals, covers, and stripped-down versions, expansive of every genre from punk and metal to indie rock and singer-songwriters. Some of the highlights include contributions from John Nolan (Taking Back Sunday, Straylight Run), Jade Lilitri (of Oso Oso), Johnny BoothSainthood RepsBrian Byrne (Envy On The Coast, Violent Joy), Somerset ThrowerRare FuturesWreath of Tongues, and Keep Flying. With an outpouring of musicians interested in supporting AMH, there will be a second volume set for release this Spring. The AMH Comp: Volume One is available now for a $15 donation on Bandcamp. To coincide with the release, a t-shirt is also now available for purchase here with funds benefiting the venue.

On the compilation and ongoing support, Amityville Music Hall Ownership commented:

It's tough to put into words the feelings that we have experienced after receiving the outpouring of support from the tight-knit community of Long Island musicians who have spent time contributing to this compilation. Admittedly, we have struggled to keep AMH alive over the last year, but with the support of these artists our lifespan is extended just a little bit longer. We do not know when we can safely allow shows to happen, but we are committed to seeing that happen as one of the only all-ages venues on Long Island that cater specifically to punk rock & alternative subcultures. We are excited to get back to it!

Speaking on putting together the compilation, Long Island Emo stated:

AMH is such a special place to so many, so sitting idly by while the venue struggles to stay afloat seems almost cruel. Between the staff of the venue and us at LIE, who are independent promoters that use the room frequently, we realized that we have an almost infinite amount of talented friends, peers, coworkers, et cetera. So in order to help the beloved room, we got everyone to rally together and contribute their music to aid in keeping the doors open for when it’s safe again. It seemed like the least we could do to ensure the future of live music on the Island.
