Mark Brunner Professional Audio Scholarship 2026 Deadline Nears

As the next generation of audio professionals readies itself for careers behind consoles, in studios, and on stages, a key opportunity is approaching its final call. The sixth annual Mark Brunner Professional Audio Scholarship—presented by the Professional Audio Manufacturers Alliance (PAMA) in partnership with Shure Incorporated—is officially entering its last stretch, with applications due May 31 at 8 p.m. EDT.

Established in honor of late industry leader Mark Brunner, the scholarship continues to reflect his enduring commitment to mentorship and education within the pro audio world. Brunner, who passed away in 2020, was not only a longtime executive at Shure but also a founding member of PAMA and a respected advocate for aspiring engineers and creatives carving out their place in the industry.

Open to students worldwide, the scholarship awards up to $2,000 per recipient to those enrolled in accredited audio programs. But beyond academic achievement, applicants are encouraged to think bigger—specifically, how they plan to give back. In keeping with Brunner’s legacy, PAMA and Shure are looking for candidates who intend to share their knowledge and uplift others within the audio community.

PAMA President Yvonne Ho emphasized the program’s growing impact, noting, “Crossing the five-year milestone for this scholarship last year reinforced just how important it has become to PAMA’s commitment to supporting the next generation of audio professionals. Mark Brunner was deeply passionate about audio education and made a lasting impact as both a mentor and advocate for so many people throughout the industry. We’re proud to continue recognizing his influence and preserving that legacy through this scholarship program.”

As the May 31 deadline looms, prospective applicants would be wise to move quickly. For students pursuing careers in live sound, recording, broadcast, or beyond, the scholarship represents more than financial support—it’s a nod from the industry itself.
