South Florida’s MAD Arts, an immersive art museum and community hub, has stepped up their audio game thanks to veteran audio engineer Erik Aldrey by installing a state-of-the-art Atmos playback system.
With KRK ROKIT G4 10-3 Studio Monitors at its core, the system enhances the auditory experience of several featured exhibits housed in MAD Arts’ 50,000 square-foot facility, namely “On Being” by electronic composer and jack-of-all-trades artist Max Cooper, fine artist Minjeong An, and creative coding and new media artist Ksawery Kirklewski. “KRK worked so well in the room and sounded incredible as a PA speaker,” said Aldrey in a press release. “The 10-3s have a large bandwidth and sound close to the full range that Dolby® wants you to have for a setup. This made the installation easier because we could depend on fewer subs to fill the room.”
Aiming to bring out the innermost thoughts of attendees in a unique, real-time interactive experience, “On Being” continues MAD Arts’ mission of supporting visionary projects that push the boundaries of creativity.
