John Mayer Launches Contest to Benefit The Heart & Armor Foundation

John Mayer has launched a contest to benefit The Heart & Armor Foundation, which he founded earlier this year aiming to protect the health of veterans, and to connect civilians to the experience of military service members. For a $10 donation, fans are entered to win roundtrip airfare to Los Angeles, hotel accommodations, and tickets to experience his show at the Forum on September 14th in true VIP fashion – even getting a moment with John backstage for a picture. In addition, the lucky winner will receive John’s personal PRS Silver Sky guitar in Golden Mesa that he played on his New Zealand / Australia / Asia tour in 2019.

Established in 2019 by musician John Mayer and a team of veterans, scientists, and clinicians, The Heart and Armor Foundation aims to protect the health of veterans, and to connect civilians to the experience of military service. Prior to formally establishing this foundation, the team has generated ten publications in peer-reviewed journals, developed and tested a promising exercise-based intervention for PTSD, created a validated screening tool for nutrition in women veterans, co-developed an active Student Veteran Leadership Council in collaboration with the San Francisco VA Medical Center, hosted military / civilian community service events, and generated millions of dollars in follow-up grants from the Department of Veterans Affairs. The program now aims to develop core support for continued research at the University of California San Francisco, and facilitate broader utilization of these data-driven community resources.
