James Bay Joins Grammy Awards Performances, Duet with Tori Kelly

The Recording Academy® has announced that James Bay has joined the list of 2016 Grammy® Awards performers for a special Grammy® moments duet with fellow “Best New Artist” nominee Tori Kelly.

As the most nominated “Best New Artist” contender with three nominations including “Best Rock Song” for “Hold Back The River” and “Best Rock Album” for his full-length debut, Chaos And The Calm [Republic Records], the performance marks Bay’s first respective Grammy® performance.

About the performance, he comments, “I've had a lot of unbelievable moments in the past year, but I genuinely didn't expect I'd get to add ‘performing at The Grammys’ to the list. Not only that, but I get to share the stage with Tori Kelly, one of the greatest new voices in music."

Across the pond, he is tied with Adele and Years & Years for the most nominations at the prestigious BRIT Awards in categories including “Best British Breakthrough Act,” “British Male Solo Artist,” “British Single of the Year” for “Hold Back The River,” and “British Album of the Year” for Chaos And The Calm.

Bay recently announced his upcoming North American and Canadian spring tour dates. These dates add to his anticipated appearance at Coachella as well as festivals across the globe this summer.

2015 proved to be massive for Bay. Following the release Chaos And The Calm, his two singles from—“Hold Back The River” and “Let It Go”—went RIAA Gold. Internationally, the record became the “Biggest New Artist Album Release This Year” in the U.K. and has been certified Gold in Australia & Switzerland, Platinum in the U.K. and has sold one over million albums worldwide. After receiving the BRIT’s Critics Choice award for 2015, Bay has gone on to receive a win for “Best New Act” at the Q Awards and was nominated for “Best New” and “Best PUSH” at the MTV EMA and a MTV VMA for “Best New Act.” Elsewhere, he received a nod for “Best International Artist” at the ARIA Awards in Australia. He has performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Late Late Show with James Corden, The Today Show, Live with Kelly and Michael and VH1’s You Oughta Know Concert.
