Venezuelan-born, Brooklyn-based curator, advocate, DJ and producer Manu Miran started Djing in 2014, and started producing last year.
"For me Djing got serious when I started throwing my parties back then in Boston," Miran says. "It showed me the power of community through music and realized I could help create and contribute with something that also let me express my creativity and music obsession."
Miran describes his sound as, "full-on raw house, full of percussion, layered drum grooves. It’s bright, progressive, sensual and ecstatic."
His most recent release is the Bang U EP.
"[It] was recorded in Brooklyn, NY, released via Muy Muy Limited label, and features two remixes by Kodemul and Perfect Lovers, who run the global party Por Detroit."
As for gear: "Bang U was produced on Ableton and mastered by Imaabs."
Looking ahead, Miran has plenty planned for the second half of 2026.
"In the upcoming months, I’ll be making my DJ debut in Amsterdam and Toronto, and will close the Studio room at Basement for the first time in August in NYC."
