Hit the Decks! It's Dyen

Netherlands hard techno artist DYEN started producing when he was 15, after going to his first rave.

"I already had a musical background from playing guitar and performing in bands, so making music felt like a natural step," DYEN says. "I uploaded a lot of tracks to SoundCloud while developing my own sound, and some of them started gaining real attention. I began DJing around the age of 16, played my first international show at 17, and from there everything gradually grew into a full-time career. After COVID, things really took off with major festivals and clubs all over the world."

DYEN describes his sound as a blend of hard techno, hardcore and old-school rave influences.

"I love combining raw industrial energy with emotional melodies and unexpected moments," he says. "I never want my music to stay in one lane—I like pushing boundaries and mixing different styles while keeping everything dancefloor-focused. If people can recognize a DYEN track within a few seconds, I’ve done my job."

DYEN's latest release is "MAAK ME NOU NIET GEK," a collab with Vieze Asbak.

"It’s a track that doesn’t take itself too seriously while still hitting incredibly hard," he says. "We wanted to combine the energy of hard techno with a playful, unmistakably Dutch twist. It’s chaotic, fun and made to create unforgettable moments at festivals."

As for gear: "In the studio I mainly work in FL Studio. My fav vst synths are Syrum and Dune3 - for my producers check them out. I use then for almost all of my tracks. I like keeping my setup simple because for me it’s all about creativity. For DJing I use Pioneer CDJ-3000s with a DJM-A9 whenever possible, together with my own USBs packed with unreleased bangers."

Looking ahead, DYEN has plenty planned for the coming months. "The next few months are packed," he says. "I’ll be touring across Europe and beyond, playing festivals and club shows while continuing to release new music. There are several collaborations, solo singles and some exciting world projects through my label Reckless Records which is going to amazing. I’m constantly working on fresh music, so people can expect a lot of new material before the end of the year and of course i'm also going to be a dad at the end of the year is where I am the most excited about."
