Julian Sacheli of Miami natives Black V Neck started along the electronic music road when he was 12.
"My dad got me lessons on how to mix on vinyl and then I did a class on Ableton," he says. "I met Ian [Beato] who was DJing for his fraternity and making a few beats on Cubase. We then got together and started working together and learning off of eachother. It got serious when we built our first studio together."
Sacheli describes the Black V Neck sound as, "Bouncy/dirty house music, of course with a little Latin flair since it's in our genes."
The latest release is "Check My Brain."
"‘Check My Brain’ was a record for us to get back to our roots a bit with that Latin house rhythm with our signature heavy bass bounce," Sacheli says. "Ian recorded his voice and then ran it through A.I. to make it sound the way it does now."
As for gear: "When it comes to DJing, since there's two of us, we require four CDJ 3000s. We essentially use two each and our second one we put acapellas in between mixes or drum loops to add more to some records. Our favorite compliment we get after a set is 'Whats that remix you played' when we just put an acapella on top of two records to create something new and not pre recorded."
Looking ahead, Black V Neck has plenty planned for the second half of 2025.
"We got some special shows coming to a few cities in the U.S. and some great festivals like Dirtybird Campout x Northern Nights, Dirtybird CampINN and Elements Festival."
