ATEEZ continues to expand their Golden Hour series with Golden Hour: Part.5. The album begins on a divisive note with the earworm lead single “Bad.” Sonically the song has a very fresh sound with Latin and Brazilian funk influences, but lyrically it sounds clunky as its monotone repetition of “bad bad bad bad” sounds out of place. “Mamacita” is the strongest song from the EP as its Latin-infused sound and anthemic chorus is explosive. The latter half is tighter and more cohesive as the songs delve more into melodic R&B sounds. Overall, it’s fun to see a K-pop group have fun experimenting with genres and evolving their identity with each release.
