David Byrne at the Dolby Theater, Hollywood, CA

Talking Heads were one of the most innovative groups to emerge in the late '70s—releasing eight albums in 11 years, each ranking from silver to 2x-platinum. Frontman David Byrne has brought his one-of-a-kind Who Is the Sky? tour to the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, CA for two sold out shows November 20th and 21st. This tour is Similar to his America Utopia Tour (2018) in that it is a full wireless show with choreography. There are no amps on stage, no props, and like a marching band, all instruments can be played while moving around. Behind the stage was giant screen, as well as the stage itself being a screen. This 21-song set includes 10 Talking Heads songs and around half of his new album, for which the tour is named after. Byrne and three members of his 12 person band took the stage around 8:15 p.m., opening with “Heaven.” The second song, "Everybody laughs," began with Byrne and one band member and later progressed into the whole group. The biggest Talking Heads hits were performed such as “And She Was,” "This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody),” “Psycho Killer,” and “Once In a Lifetime.” Byrne has also been covering Paramore’s “Hard Times.” On “Slippery People,” Portlandia Star and Saturday Night Live Alumni Fred Armisen joined in on percussion. Not only was the music incredible but the visuals were equally amazing. Back in 2018, Byrne and his band wore grey suits, though this time, they were dressed in blue.
