13.5 Months after the world lost one if it’s greatest music icons, Morrison Hotel Gallery in all 3 locations (Maui, New York, West Hollywood) celebrated a man who changed the face of music forever, this would be none other than David Bowie. The Morrison Hotel Gallery within the Sunset Marquis Hotel in West Hollywood, CA held a special opening party.
In attendance were legendary photographers Henry Diltz, Ross Halfin, and Jimmy Steinfeld, musicians: Billy Morrison (Billy Idol), Erik Eldenius (Billy Idol), Lucky Lehrer (Circle Jerks), Nick Diltz (All Hail The Yeti), Chris Wyse (Ace Frehley), John Tempesta (The Cult).
The galleries feature work highlighting various part of Bowie’s career from live performance to studio sessions from Mick Rock, Terry O’Neill, Brian Duffy, Lynn Goldsmith, Bob Gruen, Guido Harari, Geoff MacCormack, Neal Preston, Masayoshi Sukita, Barry Schultz, and Barrie Wentzell.
Above the hotel’s pool was a screen showing a slideshow of various Bowie photos and clips from his music videos. In addition to a DJ playing Bowie music, there was a special performance from 22-year old singer, songwriter, actor, dancer Rilan who was also on the major Fox show Glee.
