Covenant House CA to Receive $25,000 Donation in Advance of Free Irsay Concert/Exhibition

The Jim Irsay Collection will make a $25,000 donation to Covenant House California (CHC), a youth shelter providing sanctuary and support for youth experiencing homelessness, in advance of tonight’s event featuring the collection and The Jim Irsay Band at Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium.

Covenant House California is a nonprofit youth shelter with locations in Anaheim, Los Angeles, Oakland and Santa Clara that provides sanctuary and support for youth, ages 18-24, overcoming homelessness and trafficking.

CHC believes that no young person deserves to be homeless; that every young person in California deserves shelter, food, clothing, education, and most importantly, to be loved. Now serving almost 2,500 youth a year, CHC provides a full continuum of services to meet the physical, emotional, educational, vocational and spiritual well-being of young people to provide them with the best chance for success in independence.

This donation will provide 25 individual youth with one month of rental assistance each or 100 youth with shelter, meals, career and education support.

The evening will feature a free concert by The Jim Irsay Band with special guests: Buddy Guy (Eight-time Grammy® winner, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame), Kevin Cronin (REO Speedwagon), Billy F. Gibbons (ZZ Top, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame), Ann Wilson (Heart, Tripsitter, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame) and Peter Wolf (J. Geils Band).

It also will feature an exhibition of The Jim Irsay Collection – a traveling museum of iconic artifacts from rock music, American history and pop culture – assembled by philanthropist & Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay.  He has hosted free exhibitions in Nashville, Tenn., Washington, D.C., Austin, Texas, New York City, Chicago, Indianapolis, San Francisco, Las Vegas and Boston.
