Perry Promoted to ReverbNation CCO, Head of A&R

Simon Perry ReverbNationReverbNation Founder and CEO, Michael Doernberg, has announced that Simon Perry has been promoted to the position of Chief Creative Officer, Head of A&R at ReverbNation. He was previously Senior Vice President of Creative, Head of A&R, joining the company in 2013.

In his new role, Perry will continue to lead the company's artist curation and development initiatives, which bring substantive opportunities to ReverbNation artists to help them become successful. In addition to leading the team of curation experts in major markets across the country, Perry also spearheads outreach to the larger music industry, including records labels, music publishers, concert promoters and the film and television communities. He also oversees ReverbNation's CONNECT program, an artist incubator that will launch later on this year.

"There is no other organization who has instantaneous access to more great artists around the world than we do at ReverbNation," said Doernberg. "We believe that being able to identify promising artists in our community and offer them opportunities that will supercharge their careers is going to fuel the next phase of growth here at ReverbNation. Since joining the company, Simon has made significant contributions to the development of our music strategies, including to our curation capabilities, which are enabling us to play a pivotal role in the ongoing evolution of artist discovery. His proven track record at combining artistry and commerce make him the ideal candidate to lead this important area of our business."

Perry commented, "The digital music revolution has created a significant set of challenges for both the emerging artist seeking early-stage career support and the music industry that previously profited from offering that support. ReverbNation's vantage point as a global source for artists at the beginning of their careers, gives us both an opportunity and a responsibility to contribute to the development of new artists in a way that benefits the entire music ecosystem. This is a very exciting time to be in our business, particularly at a company like ReverbNation, where artists come first."

As a producer, songwriter, performer, artist manager and music industry executive, Perry spent years developing the skills for his new role at ReverbNation. A veteran of the U.K. music industry, he has helped launched the careers of several platinum artists. As a staff writer at BMG, Bug/Windswept and Nettwerk, his songs for global superstars such as Westlife, have placed him at the top of the charts around the world. In the U.K. alone he's contributed to four No. 1 albums and seven Top 20 singles. He also co-wrote and produced Echo and the Bunnymen's critically acclaimed studio album, The Fountain.

His more recent collaborations include rising U.S. indie-stars Magic Man (Sony/Columbia) and Penguin Prison (Downtown). Recent co-writes include Sophie Stern (Sony/Kemosabe), Sofia Black (Sony/Kemosabe) and Blueprint (Prescription Songs). He has written and recorded extensively for film and television and is published by Kobalt Music.

Perry is also the co-founder of two U.S. music companies, Archangel West (NY): Artist Management and Archangel Media (LA): Film and TV.  He is based in ReverbNation's New York City offices.
