Singer-songwriter, actor, and filmmaker Hunter Hawkins joins The Jeremiah Show this week for a conversation about storytelling across music, film, and life. Recently honored with the Emerging Artist Award at FestForums 2026 and managed by Kevin Jonas Sr. and George Kreis of Jonas Group Entertainment, Hawkins is building a career that moves seamlessly among the recording studio, the film set, and the concert stage.
The interview arrives as Hawkins enters a busy new chapter. On June 5, the artist releases "Here Now," the first single from the forthcoming EP Awake, produced by Kenny Loggins and scheduled for release on Red Van Records. That same evening, Hawkins will premiere Awake: Pinky's Journey, a companion film written, directed, produced, and starring Hawkins, filmed throughout Santa Barbara County and featuring locations including Kenny Loggins' home and Alan Parsons' Parsonic Studios in Goleta.

Known for blending cinematic storytelling with emotionally driven songwriting, Hawkins has performed in venues ranging from London's intimate clubs and Paris cafés to the Newport Folk Festival and New York City's legendary Bitter End. During our conversation, Hawkins shares the creative journey behind Awake, the relationship between film and music, and why authentic storytelling remains central to every project.
For readers interested in experiencing the project live, Hawkins will celebrate the release of "Here Now" on Friday, June 5, at the Alcazar Theatre in Carpinteria, California. The evening features the premiere screening of Awake: Pinky's Journey, followed by an acoustic performance by Hawkins.
Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Tickets and event information are available at The Alcazar Theatre and at HunterHawkins.com.
