The Otis Redding Foundation announced on Tuesday that it will honor "Jon Platt, Chairman & CEO of Sony Music Publishing, The Peyton Anderson Foundation and Josh Rogers at the 4th Annual King of Soul Music Festival, September 12–13, 2025 in Macon, Georgia. Honorees will be recognized during the festival’s gala, 'An Evening of Respect,' on Friday, September 12 at the Macon City Auditorium. Today, on Otis Redding’s birthday, the announcement furthers his legacy by celebrating leaders and organizations that embody his spirit of unity, compassion, and artistry."
Of the honor, Platt said “I am deeply honored to receive the Otis and Zelma Redding Award of Respect. The shared legacy of the Redding family represents not only musical excellence, but integrity, generosity, and a commitment to educating future generations. The Otis Redding Center for the Arts embodies a tradition of creativity and opportunity that aligns with our mission at Sony Music Publishing, and I am beyond grateful for the acknowledgment.”
"The Peyton Anderson Foundation will be honored with the Otis Redding III Award of Philanthropy, recognizing organizations that uplift community initiatives," a statement reads.
