Canadian/Bangladeshi DJ and producer Lady Tazz started DJing about six years ago.
"I caught the bug before but as I come from a very traditional Bangladeshi family, it took a while to find the nerve to break this to my father," she says.
The artist describes her sound as "deep, sensual techno." That can be heard on new release, "Sleaze."
"’Sleaze’ is pretty different from my other releases in the sense of pace and the genres not being techno, but the core always remains the same: sensual," she says. "It’s a sexy, sleazy, early morning Kit Kat club kinda track track with a brilliant Radio Slave Remix."
As for gear: "I am living between 3 continents atm and as I like to work on ideas while travelling. My set up at the moment is super simple Logic Pro , Sennheiser HD 25 On-E, mini Genelecs."
Looking ahead, Lady Tazz has plenty planned for the second half of the year.
"’Sleaze’ is coming out June 27th on Mind Medizin," she says. "August we are having 4 years of Mind Medizin event in Mexico City with Stingray and DJ Slugo, also an event in Bogota and Detroit in collaboration with Minimal Detroit."
