The Live Beat: Steve Miller Band

Alright, space cowboys and midnight tokers, start polishing your air guitars, because Steve Miller is back on the road and ready to remind us all why classic rock never goes out of style.

The Steve Miller Band 2025 Tour kicks off August 15 at the legendary Bethel Woods Center for the Arts and cruises all the way through to November 8 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, CA. That’s nearly three full months of psychedelic grooves, guitar wizardry, and singalongs that’ll transport you straight back to the golden age of FM radio.

From “Take the Money and Run” to “Jet Airliner” to the eternally vibey “Fly Like an Eagle,” Steve Miller has basically written the soundtrack to summer road trips and smoky basement hangs for over 50 years. And this tour is shaping up to be a victory lap worthy of his Hall of Fame status—that is, both Rock and Roll (2016) and Songwriters (2022).

And if you think this is just a nostalgia play—think again. Steve’s having a serious now moment. 2024 saw him playing to nearly a million fans alongside Journey and Def Leppard (talk about power lineups), and if you've noticed a familiar riff sneaking into Eminem’s chart-topping “Houdini,” that’s because “Abracadabra” just got a new life.

Oh, and did we mention that “Fly Like an Eagle” is now part of the National Recording Registry at the Library of Congress? Yep, it's officially American history. And just days from now (June 9), Steve will also be honored with the Les Paul Spirit Award.
