As part of their annual reunion celebrating the best in pop music songwriting, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) lit up the night at Los Angeles’ Petersen Automotive Museum. ASCAP President (and avid car enthusiast) Paul Williams brought his usual enthusiasm and added bubbly interjections of praise for this year’s recipients, which included Song of the Year winner “Lose Control” (Teddy Swims), co-written by ASCAP songwriter Joshua “Ammo” Coleman. The song has broken the record for the longest-running top 10 song on Billboard’s Hot 100 after making the list for 58 weeks.
