Janelle Lopez Genzink Launches Volara Artist Management

Janelle Lopez Genzink has announced the launch of Volara, a new artist management company founded on the premise that a character-driven team of women can work from a place of shared understanding with clients, embracing their innate ability to lead with strength, compassion, and empathy. The first of its kind, Volara is a collaborative, female-driven management company devoted to the meticulous oversight of artists’ careers.

With an initial client list that includes critically acclaimed singer/songwriter/actress Sabrina Carpenter (Work ItThe Hate U Give), rising Latin star Carmen DeLeon and worship group Mosaic MSC, both of whom Genzink helped sign to Capitol Records,  and indie darling/songwriter Riah, Volara is set to begin with a small, handpicked group of executives that will grow to meet the needs of the company’s expanding roster.

Of Volara Genzink comments, “My commitment will remain steadfast to forging solid, lasting relationships with the kind artists who align with the vision and ethos of the company, which draws its name from the Spanish verb “volar,” or “to fly.” At Volara, we believe artists are meant to soar, and we’re here to guide them on their journey.”

Genzink got her start interning at management powerhouse The Firm, where she landed a full-time position working on a roster that included the likes of Audioslave, Phantom Planet, and Pete Yorn. From The Firm, Genzink moved to Azoff Music Management, where she worked alongside Jared Paul on several of his clients, including New Kids On The Block. “After that, I knew I was ready to spread my wings and start taking on more responsibility” she comments. Genzink got her chance with Fifth Harmony, who she signed immediately following the group’s departure from the television smash X Factor. Over the next three-and-a-half years, Genzink would help guide the band from the recording of their debut album all the way to the VMAs, where they would take home the award for Best New Artist. During her time as General Manager at Faculty Management. Genzink would go on to work with the likes of Lea Michele and breakout singer and actress Sabrina Carpenter.

And now, enter: Volara. “I’m not scared of taking the long road,” says Genzink, “I don’t sign artists very often, but when I do, I’m committing to the whole journey, to being there alongside them every step of the way.”  And Volara is just that, a management company that strives to be a trusted, honest, creative, hardworking, collaborative member of the team.
