Mondo.NYC: Mindfulness in Music Conference

Compassionate Muse in partnership with Mondo.NYC presents Mindfulness In Music Conference, an immersive, interactive, music business experience taking place on Friday, October 16 from 12pm Noon to 8pm Eastern.

Featuring some of the most mindful artists and music industry thought leaders today: Kevin Lyman (Warped Tour, 320 Fest, The Kevin Lyman Group) -Keynote conversation speaker; Maurice Brown (Grammy Award winning Artist/Composer, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Producer of Mobetta Live!) who will speak about the importance of collaboration in 2020; and Andreea Magdalina (Founder + CEO of shesaid.so, a global events community empowering women and LGBTQ+ music) who will discuss what real inclusive leadership looks like among Millennials and Gen Z-ers. Additionally, there are guest-featured emerging artists Whitney McClain and BabiBoi speaking on the significance of being mindful in the music community while in the midst of an industry's depression and an anxiety-inducing pandemic. There are coaching and mentor workshops where questions are answered from some of the finest finance, mindset, and wellness coaches in the industry. Also, a How To Go On A Digital Diet workshop from our friend Dr. Norman Fried, a grief counselor and Clinical Psychologist.

All this and more from the mindful music community who will come together to share and learn from one another in an "ego-reduced," humble, and open-hearted atmosphere, online this year. LJ Malberg, producer of Mindfulness in Music, bio: LJ Malberg is the President of Compassionate Muse, a workplace culture, mindfulness and emotional intelligence strategies coaching, consulting and online learning community focused on compassion-based work within the music industry. She is the Founder and Curator of Mindfulness In Music conference and (popup) events. Her work spans more than two decades in the music & entertainment industry from dancer, choreographer, jazz vocalist, manager and then talent agent for clients such as Ultra Gypsy, Chuck D (Public Enemy) Slam Jamz label artists, Apple, NASA, Cisco Systems to notable roles such as Music Market Growth Strategy (Eventbrite North America, Music) and Director of Client Development (TicketWeb/Ticketmaster U.S.) and Sr. Sales Director of Music North America for Patron Technology. solutions in music regardless of race, gender identity, rank or title, social status, religion, disability.

In addition, LJ continues to speak on behalf of and for Women in Music Industry across the U.S. She is the Founding Mentor and six-time guest speaker for Women in Music Industry at the Scripps School of Communication, Media Arts and Studies at Ohio University WIMI student group. The focus of their success has been to uncover social roadblocks through compassion-based collaborative thinking as well as help to identify their individual “voice” and strengths as they move forward into the competitive landscape and still male-dominated music industry.
