The night was ripe with anticipation as the Family Followill blistered through a scorching twenty-seven song set at the newly revamped Forum in Inglewood, CA this past Friday night after remaining absent from the Los Angeles venue since the tour promoting their Grammy winning album Only by the Night.
Wheeling and dealing through songs new and old in front of a sold out crowd, the Kings of Leon solidified their status as one of the world’s foremost arena rock bands. The night began with a massive, white silk screen covering the stage only to be tarnished by the silhouettes of the eagerly anticipated Kings and the timely shrieks of Caleb in “Charmer” from Because of the Times.
They continued on a musical journey through their own history with KoL classics like “Molly’s Chambers”, the chart topping “Supersoaker” and the live debut of “Comeback Story” off of Mechanical Bull.
As for the impatient and travel-weary folks of Southern California never fear, the Kings of Leon will be playing at the Red Bull Sound Space at KROQ in LA on Monday March 24th. And for all of you hermetic creatures of the Internet, the entire performance will be streaming live beginning at 5pm and will also include an exclusive interview with the band.
