Wilson Center Guitar Festival inviting guitar players

Wilson Center Guitar Festival Invites Guitar Players to Compete

The Wilson Center Guitar Festival is open to guitar player competitors of all ages, featuring four separate competitions—classical, fingerstyle, jazz, and rock & blues. Established in 2013, Wilson Center Guitar Festival's goal is to celebrate the greatest guitarists of today and tomorrow. As the only guitar festival to feature four different genres, the three-day weekend is filled with activities for music lovers of all ages. In addition to ticketed headliner evening concerts, all daytime activities are free and open to the public, including: semi-final and final competition rounds, master classes led by guitar veterans, industry vendors showcasing the latest music gear and live music from local artists.

With help from the competition prize money sponsors, Mark and Sharon Cameli, in memory of John Cameli, the Wilson Center Guitar festival's fifth anniversary will feature increased prize money totaling $32,000. First place will receive $5,000, 2nd will receive $2,000 and 3rd place will receive $1,000 prizes in all four genres. In addition, 1st place winners will open for guitar legend Kevin Eubanks on Aug. 19.

Applications are due by May 31--each application is $50.
