USC Thornton School of Music Seeking Division Manager

The University of Southern California's Thornton School of Music invites applications for the position of Division Manager (Office Manager II) for the Division of Contemporary Music.

Reporting to the Vice Dean for Contemporary Music, this position will oversee the day-to-day operation of the Division. Principle job duties include:
• Supervision of two full-time Department Coordinators and multiple student workers
• Complex decision making for both immediate problem solving and long-range strategic planning
• Develop, prepare and monitor budgets
• Developing and instituting policies
• Planning, promoting and directing special events
• Interact closely with high profile, world-renowned guests
• Provide the program chairs and Vice Dean with the tools, infrastructure and support needed to achieve the goals set forth by the Thornton School’s strategic plan

The ideal candidate will have:
• A strong background in music, live event production or experience in the entertainment industry
• A highly professional demeanor
• Outstanding communication skills
• Excellent planning and organizational skills
• The ability to handle projects with minimal supervision
• A collaborative working style
• Expertise with various software (including the Microsoft Office suite) and the willingness and ability to explore new technologies to address office needs
• Availability to occasionally work weekend or evening events
