Sprint and Prince Royce Launch The Dream Academy Contest

Sprint and award-winning musician Prince Royce are teaming up to launch The Dreams Academy, part of #LiveUnlimited initiative to assist people in pursuing their life-long goals. The Dreams Academy will provide aspiring artists and innovators resources – including contests, grants, internships and mentorship opportunities – to help guide their journey.

To celebrate the launch of The Dreams Academy, Sprint and Royce are kicking off a music contest, awarding $10,000 and a one-on-one mentorship session with Royce to one grand-prize winner. Two runners-up will each receive $5,000. Additional categories within the program will be added in the coming months and may include such topics as technology, entrepreneurship and community activism.

“Prince Royce has said that Sprint was a catalyst for him pursuing his dreams, and now he and Sprint want to give back and help others who are committed, driven and willing to work hard to achieve their career aspirations,” said Alberto Lorente, Sprint vice president of multicultural marketing.

In April 2015, Prince Royce, a multi-platinum star, again became part of the Sprint family to develop and amplify unique music-related initiatives and programs. Royce began his relationship with Sprint as an employee in New York while pursuing a career in music. He used his Sprint earnings to record the demo that helped launch his first album and kick-start his musical career. Both Sprint and Royce believe in championing ALL dreams and look for creative ways to help individuals and communities stay connected and truly live without limits.

“There is no better partner with whom to launch this program than our friend Royce, who, like many of us, know the journey to pursuing your goals first-hand,” said Lorente. “We aim to make a significant impact in encouraging and empowering individuals to share and follow their dreams. Through The Dreams Academy, part of the #LiveUnlimited initiative, we will get to support, connect and see customers’ ideas come to life and that for us is part of what our mission is all about.”
