Review: Reloop Terminal Mix 2 For Serato DJ

Reloop Terminal Mix 2Looking like the ultimate “dream system,” Reloop’s Terminal Mix 2 is the latest controller for the Serato DJ program. Updates and modernizations are all great improvements on this two deck variant USB controller. The master section has four management buttons for direct and super-fast hardware access to playlists, crates or additional layout views without touching your laptop. The 2-channel mixer has a three-band EQ, Gain and Filter for each channel.

Reloop has developed ultra-flat 6-inch aluminum jog wheels with a non-slip vinyl-grip coating for precision control over your tracks. It’s easy to switch between pitch bending, scratching or browsing through tracks on-the-fly. The entire transport section has rubberized buttons including an extensive 8-button layout with two layers of control. Four hot cues and four sample decks can be triggered simultaneously and the second layer accesses Serato DJ’s Cut n’ Slice mode. (Not available in the Serato DJ Intro software.)

The new audio section has balanced output jacks, two headphones jacks—stereo 1/4-inch and 1/8-inch mini—a microphone input, and it is possible to connect a turntable, CD/MP3 player, or iPhone/iPod to the Aux input jack and route that audio stream to the master or even back into the software program running on your laptop.

Terminal Mix 2 comes complete with Serato DJ Intro. Visit http:// reloop.com/reloop-terminal-mix-2 for more information.
