On Dec. 13, the Pixies headlined a sold-out show at the Hollywood Palladium alongside support acts, The Orwells and Eagles of Death Metal.
As I watched each act, I saw a sense of community and passion for the music these musicians were giving to their fans. With a massive 35 song setlist, Pixies gave concert-goers a reason to dance non-stop. At times, the band went into a punk frenzy; the pit was a whirlwind, getting more chaotic as the tempo rose. Pixies showed that they still have it all, with intricate guitar riffs and musical unison.
Eagles of Death Metal got the crowd riled up, giving them a taste of what was to come later in the night. Each member had a strong personality in addition to talent, setting the tone of rock and roll. The Orwells started the night off for everyone with rock riffs and attitude.
