Perform on Harcourt's Web Series

WorldArts has announced a brand new undiscovered artists and band contest. Unsigned musicians have the opportunity to get into the music industry  and be the guest on the final episode of the highly regarded first season of Nic Harcourt’s Transmissions. The show is a live performance and interview web series hosted by noted radio and TV personality, journalist/tastemaker Nic Harcourt and directed by musician/producer Kita Klane. The first season has featured Silversun Pickups, Lucinda Williams, Chicano Batman, Fantastic Negrito and more.

Nic Harcourt’s Transmissions was created and produced by Nude & Ginger Production Co., a production duo comprising Nic Harcourt and Kita Klane. Harcourt is regarded as one of the "most influential music tastemakers" of the last 20 years. Through his radio and television shows he has helped launch the careers of such artists as Adele, Coldplay, Norah Jones, Interpol, and Florence & the Machine. Klane is a Los Angeles-based producer and artist who has her finger firmly on the digital pulse. Klane directs the episodes, while Harcourt hosts.

The competition provides an opportunity for unknown artists to get into the music industry and reach new audiences through the WorldArts platform. The winning artist will perform three songs in a multi-camera taping from the WorldArts Stage in Los Angeles CA, and be interviewed by DJ/producer, Harcourt.

“Throughout my career I’ve always put an emphasis on giving opportunity to unknown artists and bands so they can have their music heard,” said Harcourt. “Thanks to the WorldArts network, I look forward to receiving lots of amazing entries from artists and bands from all over—and listening to them all.”

WorldArts is a music site that provides a platform with global capabilities to help bring artists and band’s careers to the next level, by connecting them with new brands, fans and industry professionals. In addition to original content series like Nic Harcourt’s Transmissions, WorldArts provides artists and bands with access to video shoots, recording sessions, sales information and the Los Angeles-based WorldArts stage.

“Giving opportunities to up-and-coming artists and hands is exactly why I founded WorldArts,” said Larry Underwood, WorldArts CEO and Founder. “Keeping true to that mission, it felt right to finish up our first season of Nic Harcourt’s Transmissions with an unsigned artists and bands contest.”

“Having partnered with WorldArts in the past, we know they offer unique opportunities for independent artists to accelerate their careers [and get into the music industry],” said Joe Cuello, TuneCore’s Chief Creative Officer. “As the premier digital music distribution service, we’re always looking for new and innovative ways to champion our artists and can’t wait to share this opportunity with our members.”
