ole Launches Artist Development Program

ole_onthespotole will develop the careers of now major-label artists Charlie Worsham, Josh Dorr and Sam Grow as well as up-and-comers Jordan Davis and Haley Reinhart with a new artist development program. The program will launch with the inaugural “on the spot” competition, which will be hosted by ole during CCMA Country Music Week on Sept. 12 from 2PM to 4PM at The Dome in Halifax, NS. The event will give unsigned artists a chance to dramatically jumpstart their career, with the winner receiving a deal with ole that includes music publishing, EP recording production, YouTube audio-visual management and support from ole's creative staff—a total value of up to $40,000.

"ole is devoted to finding the best unsigned artists and developing them into household names. We are excited to continue that tradition with our artist development program," said John Ozier, GM of Nashville Creative at ole. "‘on the spot’ will allow us to immediately find and develop the next great Canadian country artist. With our roster of top-tier songwriters, massive song catalog and dedicated staff with extensive experience in all areas of the music business, ole is uniquely positioned to take our winner's career to the next level."

Unsigned artists (those without a label, publishing or management deal) who would like to participate must submit two YouTube videos—one in which they perform an original song and another in which they perform a cover song from the ole catalog—to “on the spot” by Aug. 23 at 11PM PDT. A panel of expert judges will select the finalists by Aug. 26 to perform at on the spot at Canadian Country Music Week in Halifax. Those who make the cut will perform live in front of a live audience and a panel of top music execs, who will provide a critique and select the winner.
