Nels Cline to Premiere New Work with Kronos Quartet

386Kronos Quartet, known for continually re-imagining the string quartet experience, has added Nels Cline of Wilco to its March 14 40th Anniversary performance at CAP UCLA’s Royce Hall in Los Angeles. Cline will perform the world premiere of a new composition that he wrote in honor of fellow guitarist Scott Fraser's 60th Birthday. Cline’s composition “Views from here to the Heavens (for Scott Fraser)” is a piece he wrote for fellow guitar great Fraser, who has toured as sound designer with the Kronos Quartet since 1992, and received a Grammy nomination for producing & engineering Kronos' 2005 CD "You've Stolen My Heart," featuring renowned Bollywood diva Asha Bhosle.

General tickets ($20-$65) are available at http://cap.ucla.edu, all Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at 310-825-2101 or in person at the UCLA Central Ticket Office located in the southwest corner of the James West Alumni Center. Student rush tickets, subject to availability, are offered at $15 one hour before show time to all students with valid ID.
