Jay Demarcus (of Rascal Flatts) signs publishing agreement with BMG Chrysalis Nashville

Jay DeMarcus, songwriter, producer and one-third of Rascal Flatts has signed a worldwide publishing agreement with BMG Chrysalis US' Nashville office.

DeMarcus' songwriting, bass playing and background vocals helped propel the award-winning country band to international success.  The band has released 13 Number One singles and 28 Top 40 singles, selling over 20 million records worldwide.

Rascal Flatts is known for hits such as 'Mayberry,' 'Bless The Broken Road,' 'What Hurts The Most,' 'My Wish' and 'I Won't Let Go.' The band has played concerts for over seven million fans, and they have become one of the successful country bands of the past years, winning nearly 40 major awards including Country Music Association: CMA Vocal Group of the Year (2003 - 2008), a Grammy for Best Country Song for 'Bless the Broken Road' in 2006, People's Choice Award for Favorite Group in 2009and an American Country Award for ACA Decade Artist Award in 2012.

DeMarcus has also achieved success as a record producer. He has been at the helm for Michael English, James Otto, Jason Crabb, Jo Dee Messina and others, and he produced the 2006 release Chicago XXX for the legendary band Chicago.  His production work has garnered him multiple Grammy nominations, including three for Gospel Album of the Year as well as  six Dove Award nominations, including Producer of the Year.
