Contact: info@jasonayres.com Web: jasonayres.com Seeking: Label, Film/TV Style: Acoustic Pop Rock AMP Member Username: jasonayres Ayres has absolutely no fear as a performer and he proves it on every single track. A born romantic, this Aussie's originals brim with high-energy love numbers like "Chasing Ghosts," as well as the somber mid-tempo plea "About Us" which, like all of his tracks, features a deft change-up that says this artist possesses finesse and sophistication beyond his years. Ayres' projection is infectious, his amplified acoustic guitar is confidently buoyant and he's got personality to burn. Good looks, good tunes, great dynamic energy. |

The Players: The Players: Sharron Sulami, vocals, bass, guitar; Yz, guitar; Itamar Ziegler, vocals, bass, guitar; Yuval Lion, drums.
Material: Pink Noise is an art-rock outfit that hails from New York by way of a demented factory in Hades. Pixies fans should take note. This band is neither predictable nor decipherable. Don't stand too close because no single aspect of the band's music makes sense. Lyrics, rhythm, melody, none of it can be picked apart. This group flows and crashes as one unit and would fall apart otherwise. With their experimental sound, you will likely never hear a Pink Noise song on the modern rock charts. Well, maybe on a cold day in Hades. Musicianship: This act performs at a high level. Each seemingly random sound fits so perfectly with the other musicians that what seems to be chaos is actually perfectly controlled and impressive playing. These musicians would probably be just as happy doing one long continuous number, telling an entire story with altering keys, time signatures, tempos and dynamics. They practically do, as lead singer Sharron Sulami's vocals sound less like a voice and more like a manual instrument. With her swells, timbre and screeches, her vocals are a collection of sounds that could just as easily be a violin. Performance: Pink Noise is only truly itself while on stage. The band's performance oozed a too-cool-for-you vibe and each player was a cog in the rock machine. However, with a singer like Sulami, this group should have made more use of its powerful vocalist and nixed the decibals on the instruments so the audience could experience more of their leader's eerie and beautiful voice, which was filled with emotion, pain and beauty. If by chance Pink Noise would like to chart a few tunes someday, Sulami is the group's ticket to ride. Summary: If you're feeling a little old or unhip, check out a Pink Noise show and tell people you love this band, even if you don't. Its not-ready-for-primetime vibe is just what many listeners tired of modern rock might be into. With tribal beats juxtaposed with factory machine rhythms, this four-piece is a different offering to the senses. The group would benefit from putting more emphasis on its lead singer's vocals, and maybe even making her lyrics decipherable. Pink Noise seem like a band with something to say. Now they just have to let the audience hear it. --Paula Munoz |
