The Dear Hunter Support Coheed and Cambria's Third Neverender Tour

Coheed and Cambria stopped by Oakland's Fox Theatre last Friday to honor the 12-year anniversary of the band's third full length Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness. The night's only opening act, the Dear Hunter, wasted no time showing why they were chosen as the crowd's warm up entertainment.

unnamed-2Focusing primarily on their more progressive-indie tracks, the band performed songs spanning much of their catalog (including both the COLOR SPECTRUM and ACTS I - V). Frontman Casey Crescenzo only broke from performance once to express gratitude to both the fans and Coheed before unleashing their final song of a 45-minute set, "This Body." And while much of the crowd already knew the Dear Hunter's work, eager Coheed and Cambria fans seemed to forget, if only for a moment, why they came--and fully embraced Crescenzo and company. The band received a roaring ovation as they departed the stage.
