Indie pop band Smallpools debut with flying
colors, delivering infectious, upbeat tunes
that instill the desire to dance—perhaps
with a bonfire on the beach or cruising the
highway with windows down. Nearly every
song is a catchy pop gem that paints a
vibrant mural of jubilation. The only down-
side is that the songs start blending together midway through the album, sounding similar to one another. The band has nevertheless found a sound where they can shine. Standout tracks include hit single “Dreaming” and “Street Fight” with its cheesy yet endearing lyrics. – Siri Svay
